Quick Cleaning Checklist

If your house is a wreck, spare your time to clean it up. Decide how much time you can spend. This will help you set up your cleaning schedule. Be realistic about what you want and can do. A lot of people prefer to put off cleaning as long as possible, but it’s better to maintain your home in order and clean regularly. Do a little bit every day so that the work doesn’t pile up. It’s up to you what style to choose, but it’s recommended to have major-cleaning day a few times a month.

First, wash your glass. The home can only sparkle when all the windows and mirrors are clean. You will need a solution of warm or hot water, dish soap, rag, sponge, or squeegee. After cleaning the surface wipe it down with lint-free paper towels. If you want to clean your glass in an environmentally friendly way, use vinegar and water to clean the surface.

Be cautious with all-purpose cleaners. Do not mix them. They aren’t always safe for every purpose. Thoroughly read labels before purchasing the solutions. Make sure they fit your needs and are safe to use in your home.

Vacuuming is the most effective and easy way to clean up all the dust and crumbs that accumulate on your floor. If you have pets, vacuum daily. Carpet is also a breeding ground for fleas that why it’s a necessity to vacuum and clean it regularly. Mop your floor. Use good rag mop, hot water and the appropriate cleaner for your floor.

If you wash your dishes using dishwasher, it’s recommended to load it completely and run it right after you use your dishes. It’s always much easier to wash your dishes right after using them as the food juices won’t have a chance to dry and harden. It’s better to hand-wash big plates that don’t fit well in the dishwasher. Fragile things also should be hand-washed.

There are a lot of cleaning tasks around the house. We all know that it’s much easier to keep your home in order when all the family members are incorporated in cleaning and organizing. Delegate the tasks. Someone can be responsible for emptying trash bins and taking out the trash. Someone can keep track of what is happening in the kitchen. Cleaning the kitchen table, microwave and toaster may be in his/her list of responsibilities. Another person can be responsible for changing bedsheets, pillowcases, etc.

Being a house cleaner is a very demanding job. Each house wants different things. Most people leave a list of things to do and want a house cleaner to come when they are not in the house. Job responsibilities vary from home to home, but the most common cleaning tasks include dusting, wiping surfaces and polishing furniture, making beds, ironing, hoovering, washing-up, or cleaning windows, floors or carpets. Also, cleaners are expected to clean all the rooms in a house, including bathrooms and toilets. This may be unhygienic and requires using protective equipment such as face-masks or gloves.

The house cleaner should ensure that all cleaning jobs within the house are completed in time and to the best possible standard. Hard work, serious approach and patience are also desirable to ensure that tasks are performed to customer satisfaction. The cleaner should carry out the cleaning jobs correctly and efficiently.

Honesty and a sense of responsibility are major issues within the industry. Trust is important in building and maintaining a client base. People prefer to hire insured, bonded and background checked cleaners. Most cleaning companies carefully vet their employees and give guarantees while freelance or self-employed cleaners have to work hard to establish a network of trusting customers. Word-of-mouth and local advertising are of high importance for self-employed cleaners.

Even if you’re working for some cleaning company, standard benefits such as holiday pay, sick pay, pension schemes and so on are rare within the industry. Also, there is not much opportunity for house cleaners to increase their earnings above a certain income as the work is largely unskilled and people generally seek to employ cleaners in a flexible, part-time capacity.

You don’t have enough time to clean your home or you are you too lazy to do it, don’t get upset. You can cope with all the household chores not spending too much time on it. Just spend few minutes a day on separate cleaning tasks and you will be amazed how much you can do. We’re never going to have enough time on cleaning, but completing some tasks everyday will help us stay organized.

Don’t put off housework if you want your home to stay in tip-top condition. If you only have 15 minutes, give it all you’ve got in those 15 minutes. We understand that it’s not easy to keep up with all the responsibilities you have and still take care of your house. But believe you’re strong enough to cope with all the difficulties and cleaning is among them. Just focus on some cleaning task and it will be much more easily to cope with the rest. For example, if you need to vacuum the floor, but there are so many little toys on it, complete the two tasks simultaneously: sort the toys and prepare your floor for vacuuming. You can get exhausted from picking all the toys up. But it’s worth it. Junk the toys into one big pile in the middle of your living room, grab the trash can, sit down next to the pile and start sorting. It won’t take very long, but you will be onto the next stage of vacuuming much faster.

When you watch TV, get up during the commercial breaks and do something. You will be surprised how much you can get done during a commercial break! Look around the room, decide what you can do during that few minutes. You can wipe down the kitchen counter, clear off the table, vacuum, put some things away, etc.

You can get cleaning tasks on a schedule. This will make your work faster and you will be able to determine what should be given priority and done first. If you do a cleaning task, write it down on your calendar based on when it should be done again. For example, if you clean the toilet on a weekly basis, and you do it on Friday, then write it down for the following Friday on your calendar.

Having an organized cleaning plan will definitely help you divide your cleaning tasks and determine what cleaning tasks are in your list of priorities.

Bathroom cleaning checklist

Bathroom may be one of the smallest rooms in your home, still it requires the highest level of attention. It’s very important to thoroughly clean and disinfect your bathroom on a regular basis to keep it sparkling clean. So roll up your sleeves, get out your cleaning products and tools and follow the next steps.

People think that toilet is the dirtiest fixture in the bathroom, but they are wrong. The bathroom sink actually has more bacteria and germs than the toilet! Use a scrubber and some all-purpose cleaner to scrub the sink. Get down to the very last detail. Wipe the sink with a damp cloth and cleaner. Rinse completely and repeat. Scrub the drain with a toothbrush. Don’t forget to scrub around the faucet and handles. Leave no spot uncleaned.

Shine the mirror. Use towels and glass cleaner to clean your mirror on a weekly basis.

Clean the tub and shower. Spray with cleaner and scrub the walls and the basin. Spray the entire area with plain water to rinse off the cleaner.

Now move on to the next bathroom fixture, toilet. Always wipe the toilet lid, seat and rim. Try to clean and sanitize your toilet bowl every week. Use anti-bacterial cleaner and bleach. Also, you may choose to clean your toilet using baking soda.

Clean the medicine cabinet. Empty the contents. Then mist the walls and the shelves with cleaner and wipe with a cloth. Scrub any dirty areas with a toothbrush.

Dust or vacuum the air vents.

Mop the floor. Using a sponge and cleaner diluted in water, start from the corner of the room and work toward the door.

Clean the wastebasket. Spray the wastebasket with all-purpose cleaner, and wipe it down.

If you decide to skip some steps, make sure your bathroom is clean indeed. Sometimes even the easiest cleaning procedures decide it all. In addition, not everyone has the same standards of cleanliness. So, it’s better to complete all the cleaning tasks and know that you have done everything possible to make your bathroom sparkle. And remember, the more you do during the week, the less you‘ll have to do on cleaning day.
