How to clean your kitchen sink

Step-by-step guide for cleaning a kitchen sink

When it comes to kitchen sink cleanliness is the first thing you should think about. You should regularly clean your kitchen sink, not just rinse it out until it appears clean. Rinsing won’t help you get rid of germs and bacteria. We want to share a secret to clean, sanitized and gleaming kitchen sink. We will show you how to make your sink super clean without using harmful chemicals or cleaners. You will need only natural products and some other stuff. So, you should equip yourself with the following: liquid dishwashing soap, distilled white vinegar, rock salt, baking soda, lemon or lime, ice, toothbrush, nylon or soft sponge, old rag.

For daily cleaning, you can use a mild soap and soft rag or nylon sponge to wipe it clean. Yo should avoid using abrasive sponges as they can alter the sink’s finish. Also, an all-purpose or glass cleaner should also be avoided, but can be used in a pinch. After cleaning, rinse and wipe the sink dry with a soft towel or rag.

It’s important to rinse out your sink after each use. The acid and salt in food can damage the finish of your stainless steel sink. Rinse liquids and food every time you put glasses or plates in the sink. Rinse out your sink, then sprinkle baking soda onto the surface. Work the baking soda into a paste and thoroughly rinse.

Use a toothbrush soaked with a mild soap or a baking soda paste to clean around a sink rim. Rinse and wipe down. Repeat the procedure if necessary. Then, soak paper towels in white vinegar and line the entire sink with them. Allow them to sit for a while and then get rid of the paper towels.

After finishing the last step, line the entire sink with paper towels soaked in white vinegar. Allow it to sit for a while and then dispose of the paper towels. Saturate a nylon sponge with soapy water and clean the sink. Then, thoroughly rinse it.

If you have a sink with a garbage disposal, you will need to make some mixture to thoroughly clean it. First, pour one half cup of baking soda down the kitchen drain. Then, add one cup of white vinegar on top of the baking soda. Don’t be afraid of the noise a mixture can produce. Boil a kettle of hot water. Then just pour it down the drain. If you want to get rid of the grime and debris from the grinding elements, fill the drain with 2-3 cups of ice. Take a rock salt and pour a cup of it over the ice cubes. Run the cold water and turn on the garbage disposal until the ice is gone.

With the water on and garbage disposal running, cut a lime or lemon in half and add the fruit to the disposal. This will help you clean the drain and at the same time make it smell nice.

Wipe the faucets and handles with a mild soapy solution. If spots remain, you can use a cloth soaked in white vinegar. Once you’re finished cleaning, thoroughly rinse the sink and dry it with a soft rag. Now your sink is sparkling clean!

Years of constant use are noticeable. But still strive to maintain cleanliness of your machine. Ingrained look of your washing machine can be very hard to shift.

To bring your washing machine back to “clean life”, you will need to clean both the inside and outside. First of all pull your washing machine out if it’s hidden under a kitchen counter.

Before you start, collect all the following tools: several cloths, bowl of hot water, toothbrush, toothpick, washing up liquid, and some bactericidal products.

When cleaning the outside, concentrate on the buttons first. Use a toothpick to dig out the grot. Then take the toothbrush, apply some bactericidal cleaner and work around the buttons. Take a cloth with some bactericidal cleaner and wipe down the sides, the front and bottom of the machine. Use an old cloth to wipe down the back of the washing machine.

If the detergent tray is removable, take it out and soak it into hot water. Use the bactericidal cleaner to clean where the tray slides into the machine. Use a toothbrush for hard to reach areas. Clean the detergent tray regularly to prevent build up. Wipe down the door with your cleaner.

Bathroom cleaning checklist

Bathroom may be one of the smallest rooms in your home, still it requires the highest level of attention. It’s very important to thoroughly clean and disinfect your bathroom on a regular basis to keep it sparkling clean. So roll up your sleeves, get out your cleaning products and tools and follow the next steps.

People think that toilet is the dirtiest fixture in the bathroom, but they are wrong. The bathroom sink actually has more bacteria and germs than the toilet! Use a scrubber and some all-purpose cleaner to scrub the sink. Get down to the very last detail. Wipe the sink with a damp cloth and cleaner. Rinse completely and repeat. Scrub the drain with a toothbrush. Don’t forget to scrub around the faucet and handles. Leave no spot uncleaned.

Shine the mirror. Use towels and glass cleaner to clean your mirror on a weekly basis.

Clean the tub and shower. Spray with cleaner and scrub the walls and the basin. Spray the entire area with plain water to rinse off the cleaner.

Now move on to the next bathroom fixture, toilet. Always wipe the toilet lid, seat and rim. Try to clean and sanitize your toilet bowl every week. Use anti-bacterial cleaner and bleach. Also, you may choose to clean your toilet using baking soda.

Clean the medicine cabinet. Empty the contents. Then mist the walls and the shelves with cleaner and wipe with a cloth. Scrub any dirty areas with a toothbrush.

Dust or vacuum the air vents.

Mop the floor. Using a sponge and cleaner diluted in water, start from the corner of the room and work toward the door.

Clean the wastebasket. Spray the wastebasket with all-purpose cleaner, and wipe it down.

If you decide to skip some steps, make sure your bathroom is clean indeed. Sometimes even the easiest cleaning procedures decide it all. In addition, not everyone has the same standards of cleanliness. So, it’s better to complete all the cleaning tasks and know that you have done everything possible to make your bathroom sparkle. And remember, the more you do during the week, the less you‘ll have to do on cleaning day.
