Several Best Ways to Clean Your Microwave

Tired from splatters from cooking in the microwave oven? They do really look and smell horrible. But no worries, there are several safe ways how to clean your microwave.

Using vinegar

First of all, fill a glass half full of water adding one tablespoon of wine vinegar into it. Put the glass inside a microwave and then turn it on for 5 minutes.

You may also need less time in the microwave with the greater power capability. Be sure to keep an eye on the glass with water if you clean your microwave using this method for the first time.

This method helps to stem up all the walls of the microwave oven and helps to remove the dried-on food.

In 5 minutes remove the glass with water from the microwave and wipe the inside with a clean cloth or a paper towel.

Softened dirt will be easily removed.

You also need to clean the glass tray. In order to do it, remove the tray and wash it under the warm running water with the soap. You can also wash it in the dishwasher.

Using dish soap

Take a plate that can be used in the microwave oven and fill it with warm water.

Add dishwashing soap into it and place the plate into the microwave turning it on for a minute or two.

The microwave should be turned on until you see the water started to steam.

Take the plate out and using a wet sponge wipe the inside of the microwave.

The steam will help to loosen up all the dried-on dirt and food, and you will be able to easily clean it.

It should be also added that backing soda helps to fight with the odors inside the microwave.

Using a lemon

In order to clean your microwave with the help of the lemon, cut it into two halves. Place the halves cut-side down on a removable glass (microwave plate) and also add a teaspoon of water.

Turn the microwave on and in a minute the microwave should be filled with the steam and the halves of the lemon should be hot.

Then wipe the inside of the microwave with the help of the paper towel or a dry cloth.

Don’t forget to wash the glass plate from the microwave.

Additional information:

  • Don’t close the door of the microwave immediately after its cleaning, let it dry up.
