Pet hair cleanup tricks and tips

Most of us just love animals and can’t imagine life without them. Pets become our friends and we take care of them and strive to make their life as comfortable as ours. Oftentimes our pets sleep on rags, sofas, easy chairs in the living room or bedrooms. Unfortunately, after that we find a lot of pet hair on the upholstery, carpets, etc. Sometimes it’s easy to remove it, but in some cases it becomes a real chore. Generaly people use lint roller to get the job done. But what should we do if the lint roller fails to remove pet hair from our favourite sofa or easy chair? Here are a few tips to try:

Wrap packing tape loosely around your hand with the sticky side out. Carefully wipe down your furniture and areas where your best friends tend to hang out. This method is not so pretty but works well and on clothes too.

If you don’t have a packing tape try the next method. Mist area well with water. Use a stiff bristle brush and quickly gather hair into a pile. Then vacuum. Also you can try a dense sponge. It’s not an expensive tool that works well and can be washed and reused over and over again. You can find it in stores for special cleanup sponges. Don’t forget to wear rubber gloves. It can be dishwashing gloves, surgical rubber gloves or rubber gardening gloves. They all work well. Always wash and dry the gloves.

In the store you can find a special spray that will also work well. Spray the area, let dry then vacuum, sweep or sponge the area. If you have some “extra money” you can buy a portable wet vacuum that will help you tackle the chore. Also, you can try a dryer sheet.

And now to the brush you use to groom your pet. Here is a nice trick for cleaning the brush. If you have nylon stockings that have a run, don’t throw them away. Cut them into strips and carefully cover the head of the brush. After the grooming pull off the strips. All the collected pet hair will come off with it.

We know it’s not so easy to control pet hair. Our little friends are very active and may leave their fur everywhere. Use our tricks to breathe a sigh of relief. It’s so nice to spend your time with pets without the risk of coughing up a hairball. If you love your pets like family, you will forgive them a real mess left behind. We hope our tips will help you maintain a clean and pet friendly environment.
